Abstract

This paper reports results of a detailed, field-based study of Second Creek, in Knoxville, Tennessee, undertaken between 1997 and 2001 to monitor the adjustment of a perennial stream decades after the initial urbanization of its catchment and to better understand anthropogenic influences on bed particle sizes in an urban stream. Channel bank erosion is the dominant adjustment, but aggradation also occurs
