Abstract

This paper presents a new geomorphological combination legend that expands the possibilities of current geomorphological mapping concepts. The new legend is presented here at scale of 1:10.000 and it combines symbols for hydrography, morphometry/morphography, lithology and structure with colour variations for process/genesis and geologic age. The system is developed to also be used as a basis for application in GIS. The new system is illustrated for 2 contrasting landscape types : a glacially influenced, high altitude alpine setting on the border of Vorarlberg, western Austria and Liechtenstein; a formerly glaciated region in Dalarna, central Sweden
