Abstract

The first aim of this paper is to develop a model of thermal erosion of permafrost without the simplified assumption of a constant melt rate. Results of this model will be compared with experimental data. Once validated, the model will be applied to the Siberian river case, the Lena river. The second aim of this study is to determine the benefit of a model with variable melt rate compared with the simplified model with constant melt rate, according to the temperatures, the discharges and the massic ice content
