Abstract

The aims of this paper are to determine whether the terrace and floodplain sequences of 3 streams in the upper Wollombi Brook drainage basin are the same and whether they responded to European settlement in a similar manner. After describing the biophysical setting of the study area, the methods are outlined. Then the alluvial histories of the 3 streams are deduced. Lastly, the problems in determining such alluvial histories are discussed
