Abstract

Outdoor education is ont of the means helping to develop an active attitude towards the landscape. Direct contact with the landscape enables pupils to ascribe their own descriptive or interpretative values to objects and phenomena, and experience them as relevant in connection with their own reality. This is only way to provide them with knowledge, experiences, patterns of behaviour and reactions, which will later help them make decisions and take responsability for their actions. The challenge of outdoor education is in balanced development of all intelligence levels, which could change the relationship between the human being and the nature. The cases from the Kostel landscape demonstrate the possibilities and advantages of outdoor lessons near small springs, torrents, the Kolpa flood plain, landslips and in the sandpit. - (IKR)
