Abstract

Alaska's Glacier Bay National Park and Preserve is one of the most dynamic landscapes in North America. Since George Vancouver charted an ice-choked coast in 1794, the glacier has receded over 160 km, providing new habitat for biotic succession. This primal land is an excellent opportunity to monitor geographic change, of which four from 1984 to 2005 are described here. - (IfL)
