Abstract

This paper reviews the geophysical methods most frequently applied in permafrost research. Advances in application and data interpretation over the past few years are highlighted using case studies (in the Swiss Alps, in the Northern Québec and in the Mackenzie Delta). Emphasis is put on the tomographic capabilities of geophysical methods. Future prospects are discussed
