Abstract

Bilingual and richly illustrated, the work presents the result of the excavations conducted by a French-Burmese team in the region of Pyaw Bwe (central Burma) in the village of Ywa Htin. 180 graves dated from the Iron Age were discovered. The ensemble of the remains are presented, followed by analysis and specialized studies (ceramology, typology of bronze axes, analysis of glass and semi-precious stone ornements, copper and bronze analysis and carbon dating). The book replaces the discoveries in their context of the Samon valley and at the heart of regional exchange which took place during the Iron Age. - (GL)
