Abstract

This paper reviews recent and future advances in remote sensing that can be used by biogeographers to measure and model biodiversity patterns from spaceborne sensors. Fist, the AA. examine satellites currently being used to measure and model biodiversity from space. Second, they examine advances in direct approaches for measuring species and land-cover classifications. Third, they examine advances in modelling patterns of species and diversity. Finally, they examine the applications of remote sensing methods for conservation planning
