Abstract

This issue is placed in a wider context, drawing on recent geographical work on Muslim identities. The position of Muslims in contemporary debates about multiculturalism in Britain is explored. The dynamics of veiling practices and contested meanings of the veil is discussed. The complexities of dress choices for young women is considered, and dominant discourses are challenged
