Abstract

In this paper, results from active-layer probing on grids and thaw tubes are presented and spatial and temporal variations discussed in the context of local site characteristics and measurement methodologies. The AA. address 2 important questions in regards to Circumpolar Active-Layer Monitoring (CALM) site data : 1) how do active layers in various settings respond to thermal forcing; and 2) how does seasonal climate variability affect active-layer thicknesses ?
