Abstract

The expansion of alien invasive plant species is, next to the decline of the groundwater level and urbanization pressure, a significant threat to the environment in the Kampinos National Park. Among 44 invasive species (4/5 of the national list) those considered most dangerous are: Acer negundo, Conyza canadensis, Impatiens parviflora, Padus serotina, Quercus rubra, Robinia pseudacacia, Solidago gigantea. The upsurge of urban development in the buffer zone is a potential source of further biological invasions. - (BJ)
