Abstract

The A. is protesting at the publication of the paper on last glaciation of Shetland by Golledge et al. (2008). For him, since the method of study they used (remote sensing, NEXTMap) does not reveal the sense of the direction in which the ice flowed and since they ignored earlier ground-based work involving striations which do reveal the sense of direction of ice flow, their conclusions, that during that period Shetland had been overrun by ice from Scandinavia, have no scientific basis
