The study area, which centers on the Huangtuwa landslide, lies within the Rolling Loess Plateau in the Zizhou County in Shaanxi Province. Pollen tracing techniques have been applied to the sediment deposits in a former lake created by the Huangtuwa landslide, in order to investigate the erosional response to land use change that occurred during the period that followed the creation of the landslide-dammed lake. Some of the results of this investigation are reported and discussed in this paper
