Abstract

The study area is located on the shore of Tulemalu Lake, which is part of the Canadian Shield, dominated by granitic bedrock and has been repeatedly glaciated. The detailed partitioning and mean storage of soil organic carbon (SOC) in continuous permafrost terrain are estimated from transect vegetation inventories and a land cover classification based on a Landsat satellite image and with soil chemical analyses of pedons. Results and discussion about the properties of soils and cryoturbation processes
