Abstract

Gudmund Hatt was a key figure in Danish geography during the first half of the 20th century, and he played a significant role in developing the fields of ethnography and sociology. He was a prolific geopolitical commentator during the early years of the German occupation of Denmark, which marked him as pro-German. Virtually all of Hatt’s human geography was on the borderland between science and politics. These circumstances cost him his chair of human geography at the University of Copenhagen. - (HC)
