Abstract

The study makes an attempt to answer the following questions: what „small town” means in the Hungarian settlement system, and how the different development processes of these types of settlements could be described the best way. As a result of statistical data analysis of the 250 Hungarian small towns four main and nine subtypes have been determined. The study investigates the geographical pattern and regional diversity of their development. - (AM)
