Abstract

The aim of this work is to develop further TEM investigation of the morphological characteristics, microstructures, and mineral reactions involving hematite formation in the loess-paleosol sequences in order to understand better the relationship among magnetic susceptibility, nano-phase mineralogy, and paleoclimatic changes. The results will provide mineralogical support for paleoclimate reconstruction based on Chinese loess and help to understand better nano-phase mineral response to paleoclimate changes
