Abstract

This book focuses on the many and complex attempts to care for homeless people in the contemporary city. Drawing upon in-depth ethnographic research with organizations providing services for the homeless, and with the homeless themselves, the AA. emphasize the relationships of care embodied and performed within homeless services. They argue for a nuanced understanding of the ways in which homelessness is governed. Chapters concentrate mainly on urban situations in Great Britain, but also consider caring for homeless people in rural areas. - (HC)
