Abstract

This study uses relatively reliable AMS C-14 dating, combined with pollen assemblages, to reconstruct the climatic changes in this region during the last 13.0 ka BP : steppe or desert-steppe vegetation dominated landscape alternatively replaced by a coniferous forest under a generally wet climate. The AA. hope that this regional climatic reconstruction can be useful in depicting the large-scale patterns of climate changes and thus in facilitating our understanding of the mechanisms
