Abstract

This book presents a reinterpretation of the forces that have shaped the remarkable growth of ethical consumption in the United Kingdom and elsewhere in developed economies. It develops new ideas to shape understanding of the pragmatic nature of ethical action in the consumption process; provides empirical research on consumers, social networks and campaigns; and locates ethical consumption within social theoretical debates on neoliberalism, governmentality, and globalization. - (HC)
