Abstract

Based on research in working-class neighbourhoods in Krakow (Poland) and Bratislava (Slovakia), this book explores how households attempt to mitigate and tolerate the social costs of neoliberal reform to create circumstances for their social reproduction at times when labour markets and job prospects are being transformed and social relationships are changing rapidly. It extends the theorization of neoliberalization by extending it to the realm of the everyday household economy. - (HC)
