The gender-environment relations have symbolic and material consequences in how nature is understood, in how environmental resources and responsibilities are managed and distributed and in gendered power dynamics that play out in the day-to-day lives of people around the world. Processes of differentiation to which gender is central are place bound and are related to the environments being produced.
