The aim of this paper is to analyse landforms and fault patterns in the Kobberminebugt-Qaqortoq area corresponding to a left-lateral step on the south-west margin of Greenland. By identifying and mapping stepped landforms, morphostructural patterns and weathering features, the AA. discriminate between control by differential erosion and tectonic movements. They suggest that the stepped patterns of erosion surfaces represent a pre-glacial landform evolution related to the uplift of 2 antiforms along the west and east coast of southern Greenland. Although implying a strong involvment of differential erosion, their interpretation of the geomorphology is compatible with a late reactivation of an oblique transfer zone formed during the early Cenozoic rifting
