Abstract

The article deals with the terms map use, thematic maps, cognitive theories and empiric studies. The student´s methodical knowledge of map use is decisive to communicate spatial information successfully within a school´s course of instruction. Some empirical results show that it is important to focus on the core message of thematic maps considering the specific topic of a lesson. - (IfL)
