Abstract

This study used a combination of flow and sediment concentration monitoring data from 6 stations distributed across the Bléone catchment in the French southern Alps. To determine the dominant sources of sediment in the entire catchment, a sediment tracing study was conducted during the 2007-2009 period, based on sediment geochemistry and fallout radionuclide concentrations. The implications for future catchment management actions aimed at decreasing the supply of sediment to the reservoir are discussed
