Abstract

In Bosnia-Herzegovina ethnic heterogeneity at national level ranks among the highest in Europe. Among the groups inhabiting the country the society of the Musliman Bosnians with relative majority in the population has been cultivating ever closer relationship with the rest of the Islam world since the war. Where are the current religious and ethnic differences already manifested in politics – and the conflicts between the various cultural and religious groups prevailing in the country in the 20th century rooted? What are the economic, demographic and migration-related consequences of the war fought in the first half of the 1990s for the various ethnic groups ? The paper highlights the characteristics of these issues from an ethnic-geographic point of view. - (AM)
