Abstract

Revealing the level of geographical knowledge from different aspects is important because of the increasing relevance of environmental information. Geography is treated in a contradictory way in the course of efforts to change the system of science education. People only have superficial ideas about this subject and they are unsure of its usefulness. As the study states, analysing the geographical knowledge can support geographers to form the inner demand of changing geography teaching and to develop the linkage between everyday competences and societal expectations. - (AM)
