Abstract

Zonia Baber was a progressive educator in the USA, who advocated anti-racism, anti-colonialism, peace, women’s rights, and nature conservation. She travelled very widely visiting numerous countries, and was an academic at Chicago where she promoted existential approaches to education and argued for attention to the multiple and diverse contexts of children’s lives. She was awarded a gold medal by the Geographic Society of Chicago. - (HC)
