Abstract

The Sunda Shelf of Indonesia is a key physiographic link between the South China Sea and the Indian Ocean. The goals of this paper are to : 1) demonstrate methodologies for calculating hydrologic parameters from seismically interpreted channelforms and use the resulting information to assess degree of incision; 2) determine what channel forms reveal about past climate and relative sea-level history. ArcGIS methods developed here could be used to analyze channelform deposits and modern rivers alike in an along-stream framework, whether for reservoir characterization, water resource management, or ecological applications
