The Lower Tisza floodplain can be divided based on height conditions. The lower floodplain was probably the result of tectonic movement and river incision during the Late Pleistocene or the Holocene. However, the exact date and circumstances of its development are not yet clear, and the proposed theories contradict each other. The aim of the study is to clarify some of these questions, based on the detailed geomorphological analysis of the area and using the available data on paleo-channel ages. In order to estimate the age of the floodplain, its recycling (turnover) time was determined. - (AM)
