This article discusses the possible development of interdisciplinary curricula in history and geography in the Italian school system based on the issues and problems of cultural and educational experience has arisen from direct experience of history and geography in the two-year high school program. The didactic concept avoids the risk of favoring one of the disciplines over the other, but instead requires a strong epistemological and methodological innovation concerning both disciplines. There is a need to abandon the traditional educational curricula in order to develop a new model for the organization of knowledge. - (NF)
