Abstract

Through the conceptual lenses of intersectionality and interdependence, this article looks at the appropriation and formation of Toledo's of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender neighborhood, the Old West End, and its relation to another central-city neighborhood, Vistula; the development of the local LGBT and queer community more broadly; and the interrelation of these gay and queer neighborhoods with other social sites and spaces. The findings suggest that intersectionality and interdependence between and among religion, sexuality, and class play a large role in LGBT neighborhood transformation
