Abstract

Representations of climate change in lower secondary geography curricula and textbooks from Bavaria (Germany), Romania and Mexico carry the characteristic fingerprints of their different national educational settings. Climate change is absent from all but the Bavarian curriculum. The majority of the textbooks display a rather static view of what constitutes climate change. Textbook representations of climate change contribute to geographical knowledge acquisition. Cultural aspects shape curricula and textbooks
