Abstract

The AA. identify the most diverse places in Europe, regarding natural landscape types. The analysis covered most of Europe at 5 km resolution. Each cell was observed by counting different landscape types in a radius of 50 km, producing several maps of landscape diversity. Maps were synthesized into one, showing landscape diversity of Europe. Among European countries Slovenia has the highest average landscape diversity; the highest absolute landscape diversity is in the Norwegian part of southern Scandinavia. - (IKR)
