Abstract

This work, divided in two sections, is a potpourri of information about Burma, its festivals and tourist sites. The first part is devoted to the gentle specificities of Burmese culture and its many attractive Buddhist festivals. The second part, which represents two third of the volume, gives more than a glimpse of the Burmese delicacies such as mohinga, lephet, shan tofoo, glutinous rice, fried fritters, pancakes, honey-groundnut cakes, mango, durian, toddy palm delights, candies and nectar. - (GL)
