Abstract

The condition of sustainable agriculture is the rational land use, namely the preservation of natural resources and the ecological adaptation. The most important questions of decision-making related to land use are what land use alternatives are suitable for natural conditions under the given economic and social circumstances and what potential and actual efficiency and ecological and economic consequences they have. Financial and infrastructure problems render the practical application of research results difficult in Hungary. A. intends to summarize in this paper the principles and methods of land use planning based on land classification and agro-ecological research. - (AM)
