Human responses to middle Holocene (Altithermal) climates on the North American Great Plains
The purpose of this review is threefold : to summarize middle Holocene climates and environments of the Great Plains that would have affected human foragers; to assess the potential impact of middle and late Holocene geomorphic processes on the archaeological record from this period; and then to identify broad spatial and temporal trends in human adaptations of this period, and assess the manner in which foragers responded to those climatic, ecological, and hydrological conditions
