Abstract

The objectives of this study were : to quantify dust fall and to analyze the sedimentary characteristics of the airborne sediments, including grain-size distributions as well as chemical and mineral compositions in the Takla Makan Desert; to interpret the influence of the physical environment on those sedimentary characteristics; and to evaluate the possible relationship between the eolian sediments from the Takla Makan Desert and those from eastern China and the North Pacific Ocean
