Abstract

This paper presents the first comprehensive stratigraphic study of the late Quaternary history of the Gila River, the largest perennial stream in southern Arizona. The alluvial stratigraphic sequence presented here for the Gila River provides information on the response of a large desert stream to climate change during the late Quaternary
