Misuse of R2 values from linear regression in fractal analysis

Authors(s) and Affiliation(s)

The main purpose of this study is to show that, although seemingly counterintuitive, higher R2 values actually increase the likelihood of detecting significant curvature in a relation. Additionally, while this curvature is unlikely to hinder the use of LSLR in predicting y from x, it will be demonstrated that significant variations in the slope coefficient (and therefore, in estimates of D) can exist in the presence of R2 values close to unity
