Abstract

This research was conducted in Podocarpus National Park, southern Ecuador. It was designed to help determine how different combinations of simulated anthropogenic disturbances modify the structure and composition of shrub and grass paramo communities. 34 experimental plots were subjected to treatments involving burning and/or cutting so that the A. could examine the regeneration of paramo species after disturbances that are common in the southern Ecuadorian highlands
