Abstract

More than 40 million cubic metres of mining waste were supplied to the Ringarooma River, northeast Tasmania, between 1875 and 1984, leading to successive phases of aggradation and degradation. The development of the gravel-sand transition during the changing conditions of the basin-wide disturbance is analysed, with particular attention being paid to the stability of the transition
