Abstract

The AA. observespatial changes of loess texture in 9 sections along a north-south transect of the Loess Plateau, starting at Yulin and ending at Weinan, during the last glacial-interglacial cycle. The results suggest that the sand fraction (>63 μm%) of the loess deposits, especially in the loess-desert transitional zone, may be used as a proxy indicator for proximity to the desert margin
