Abstract

Current processes of socioeconomic restructring lead to negative environmental consequences obscured by a failure to extend analysis beyond limited temporal, spatial or sectoral scales. A simple centralized model of environmental regulation is transformed into a complex decentralized pattern involving the emergence of new approaches of urban governance
