Abstract

In this article, the A. discusses the erosional impacts of grazing animals on both rangeland and the enclosed and often improved grasslands such as those in the UK, New Zealand and temperate New South Wales, Australia. Several aspects are considered : creation of bare soil by grazing animals; maintenance and expansion of area of bare soil by grazing animals; threshold vegetation cover and erosion; threshold grazing intensities and erosion; rates of erosion of grazed land; grazing, increased runoff, and channel and gully erosion
