Abstract

This paper reports on a series of wind-tunnel simulations of the development of a deflation lag with natural pebbles of varied sizes, shapes and placements. Following the stabilization of the surface, an external upwind source of sand was introduced, and the adjusted transport of these foreign particles over the lag surface was monitored. Changes in the exposure of the lag elements and the characteristics of the boundary layer were also measured throughout the simulation
