Abstract

An analysis of the fertility rates development in the last fifty years. The adoption of social and pro-natalist measures of the early 1970s was a political matter, however prepared in the 1960s. The probably last demographic boom will be remembered for at least 70 years by an irregularity in age structure. This will be most strongly felt after 2030 when the populous generation born in the 1970s will be reaching the age of the retirement. - (MS)
