Abstract

Accounts which portray computer aided qualitative data analysis software as neutral and benign are rejected. Applying computer software to qualitative projects raises a number of important issues that go to the heart of ethnography. The AA. argue that the adoption of computers marks a useful moment in which to think critically about the means and ends of qualitative analysis.
