Abstract

This paper discusses some of the issues involved in planning mine rehabilitation, in particular the need to assess the future state of the rehabilitated mine site, and presents a geomorphologic perspective on this issue. A number of examples are drawn from the rehabilitation of uranium mines in the Alligator Rivers Region of the Northern Territory and elsewhere in Australia, and methods of assessing the rehabilitation of uranium mines are described for the Alligator Rivers Region
